Absolute Red...because not all goji is created equal |
Absolute Red wolfberry (goji) products are unlike anything else. After seeing the inferior goji berry products being sold to consumers, and also experiencing the effects of this 'wonder' berry whilst growing up in Beijing, Dyson Du was determined to bring authentic, fresh and the highest quality range of goji and superfruit products to Australia.
1. Absolute Red products are made from berries of the superior lycium barbarum L variety which are grown in the NingXia Valley Autonomous Region, called the ZhongNing Valley in northern central China which is famous for it's wolfberry and produces the best crop in the world. It's also known as the 'home of the goji berry' and "China's herbal medicine valley".
The Huang He (Yellow) River originates in the Himalayan Mountains and flows through the NingXia Province. This river creates a unique, mineral-rich, super fertile silt-water flood plain found nowhere else on earth, producing incomparable wolfberries.
This region is also renowned for meeting all of the stringent rules to be awarded the prestigious “Green Certificate”, the equivalent of the USDA’s Organic Certification.

2. Absolute Red uses "super" grade NingXia (goji) wolfberry - far superior than any other type of wolfberry
The Yellow River flood plain where the Ningxia wolfberry crop is grown derives it's water from the Himalayan Mountains. The water flows through the mountain snow pack and lower Himalayan foothills and it becomes charged with a remarkable assortment of minerals and organic nutrients. This super fertile silt water is rich in minerals by the time it reaches the Ningxia province.
Not only does Absolute Red use the best variety of goji plant but uses only the highest grade of berry. Not many people know that there are four grades of berries which are sold as goji berries. These grades are “super”, “king”, “special” and “grade A” and there is a significant difference in price and quality between the grades.
"Super” grade berries are around 40% more expensive than “grade A”. The “super” berries are larger in size, more flesh, less seed with more polysaccharides than any type of goji berry. These superior berries are come from the longest established bushes and vines. Absolute Red only uses “super” grade berries in all of it’s products. To be classified as “super” there has to be approximately 220-240 berries per 50 grams. This compares with the “grade A” where there is approximately 480 berries per 50 grams.
3. Absolute Red NingXia wolfberry Research Farm
The special research farm where the berries for Absolute Red products are grown is 1000 hectares of dedicated vines, ensuring onging supply. The farm complies with the Organic Food Production Standard which means no chemical fertilisers, heavy metals, sulfites, dyes or irradiation are used on the farm. 4. Superiority of Absolute Red products
All the products are processed using the patented Nutriguard method developed by Absolute Red scientists over the past 8 years of research which protects the maximum amount of nutrients. Also, NO chemicals fertilisers, pesticides, heavy metals, sulfates, dyes or irradation methods are used in Absolute Red products.
Absolute Red Puree - If you can understand the concept that heat destroys certain nutrients (for example, enzymes in foods die at temperatures over 50 degrees C then you will understand the importance that cold pressing the berries will make to the nutritional content of the Absolute Red puree. Also, unlike the majority of goji juices available, Absolute Red crushes the entire berry to glean all the nutrients which are so valuble in the skn and seeds as well as in the pulp. Absolute Red puree is not reconstituted juice, nor is it mixed with other juices, or watered down. It's 100% crushed goji berries. It’s pure – not mixed (diluted) with other juices. And the dried wolfberries are in the highest grade (230 berries in 50 grams).
Absolute Red Dried berries and powder - Commonly sold dried goji berries are of the lesser 'grade A' berry. They are smaller, darker in colour with a bitter taste. Absolute Red only uses “super” grade berries which are are larger in size, more flesh, less seed with more polysaccharides than any type of goji berry. The berries are sun dried, or for the powder, are ground from whole frozen berries.

5. Absolute Red
Dyson Du grew up in Beijing. As a young boy he was given goji berries by his mother for all types of ailments. On return to his native country in the late 1990’s and after seeing the inferior goji products on the market in Australia, Dyson decided to bring Ningxia goji (wolfberries) to Australian.
