Frequently Asked Questions |
How much Absolute Red Wolfberry (Goji) should I take each day? We recommend taking 25ml of puree, or 8grams of powder, or 15grams of dried berries daily for general wellbeing; double the above amount for recovery of illness, or take as much as you desire. There have been no reports of adverse affects from taking more Goji than recommended.
What has Goji been used for traditionally? Goji has traditionally been used as medicine for a thousand years in China for a wide variety of health conditions and general wellbeing.
Is Absolute Red a multi level marketing company? No. As a child growing up in Beijing, Dyson Du was regularly given Goji berries by his mother as a cure for colds and flu. In the late 1990‚s Dyson visited the NingXia Province, China, the home of the highest quality Goji berries.
Dyson was so impressed by the quality of the berries and the stringent processing procedures, and after seeing inferior products on the market in Australia, he decided to bring pure goji berries to Australia.
With some well known goji selling companies, the founders are marketing and business graduates who dreamt of selling some type of product by multi level marketing. The cart before the horse.
Can the elderly and children take Goji as well? Yes, as a fruit, everyone can benefit from Goji. However we do not recommend children under 8 years old to take Goji. If you are experiencing any health condition or are currently taking any medication, you should inform your physician.
What is the difference between goji berries? Most produce is grading into different qualities and goji berries are no exception. There are four grades of berries which are sold as goji berries. These grades are "super", "king", "special" and "grade A". There is a significant difference in price and quality between the grades.
"Super" grade berries are around 40% more expensive than "grade A". The "super" berries are larger in size, with more flesh, less seed and more polysaccharides than any other type of goji berry. These superior berries come from the longest established bushes and vines. Absolute Red only uses "super" grade berries in all of it’s products. To be classified as "super" there has to be approximately 220-240 berries per 50 grams. This compares with the "grade A" where there is approximately 480 berries per 50 grams.
Will you have enough supply if demand keeps increasing? We have our own farm and have also joined forces with other growers of premium Goji berries in the region. We have a large amount of harvest every year.
Why is Goji mentioned so often in connection with polysaccharides? This is because no other plant has the same 4 polysaccharides in such a high quantity. Our Goji products often have polysaccharide levels of 40%. What is considered high for other health products would be unacceptably low for Goji.
What is the shelf life of your Goji products? Both the Goji puree and Goji powder products stay good around 2 years unopened. After opening, refrigerate the puree and it will last up to six months.
When should a person notice any results from taking Goji? While this varies greatly from person to person due to their individual health situation, most people experience benefits within the first 6 weeks.
How do you guarantee consistent quality of your Goji products? Our production facilities in China follow the same stringent GMP regulations that are common in the United States. We have established an elaborate quality control system during the harvesting, washing, processing, and bottling steps of production. Samples of our Goji products have been analyzed and tested by many of the largest vitamin and nutraceutical companies in the world. They are all amazed by the purity and high nutrient levels.
Are your Goji products certified organic? All of our Goji berries are grown using organic standards. We carefully use biodynamic growing methods and we never use any pesticides or chemical fertilizer on our Goji plants. However, it is difficult to obtain a certification in China.
Are your Goji products made with Goji berries from the Himalayas? At this time there is no industrial production of Goji berries in the Himalayas. However, the Goji berries that we use grow in the pristine NingXia Mountains of Western China. This explains the unmatched nutrient content of our 100% pure Goji products. We would never use less potent Goji berries from less pristine growing areas.
Why do you prefer fresh berries over dried berries? Dried Goji berries are convenient to take when you are traveling. But the polysaccharides in dried Goji berries may have oxidized and are no longer available in the same high quantities as they are in fresh berries. We only use fresh berries for the production of our Goji puree and powder.
What is the story behind some of these other so-called Goji juices? Unfortunately, there are some products on the market that are dangerously mislabeled. They contain more water and are often reconstituted from dried berries or powder. It is our hope that the consumer will carefully investigate which products they can trust.
How do I use my credit card to pay via paypal? You don't need to have a paypal account yourself to pay with your credit card via paypal. You simply insert your credit card details into the paypal area and paypal will forward your completed order to Absolute Red. There are no charges from Paypal for using this and it is very safe.
What is the difference between brands of goji / wolf berry? Some goji berry juices are reconstituted or have pear or apple juice added. Some juices and dried berries are made from lower grade berries which are not as high in nutrients as those made with the highest "super" grade berries. |
